No Bees. No People

by Johnny and the Raindrops

/

about

A funky song about the power of BEES!
The experts say:

'Over the past 15 years, colonies of bees have been disappearing, and the reason remains unknown. Referred to as ‘colony collapse disorder’, billions of Honey bees across the world are leaving their hives, never to return. In some regions, up to 90% of bees have disappeared!' (Nation Geographic Kids).

'Scientists now suspect ... parasites, pesticides and infections combine to deliver a triple whammy. Pesticides first may weaken the bees. That leaves the insects too weak to survive diseases and pests that otherwise would not kill them. Earth’s changing climate worsens things, Breed notes. A changing climate can bring droughts or flooding that affect the availability of flowers on which bees depend. This makes bees more vulnerable than ever.' (Science News for Students).

lyrics

The flowers and the fruits and the vegetables know
They need the bees to make them grow.
Chemicals make bees drowsy so the chemicals have to go.

No bees. No people. We need them in our lives.
No bees. No people. Keep them healthy in their hives.
No bees. No people. They’re important little guys.
Without the bees, they’d be no people, so … Bee wise!

Bees are good, I tell you. Do I have to tell you twice?
There are many bee-sons to be cheerful when you’ve got bees in your life.
So bee-hive yourself. Bee sensible. Cut out those pesticides.
I’ve got a bee in my bonnet. Don’t worry ‘cause I’m on it. Yo! Bees! We’re on your side.

No bees. No people. We need them in our lives.
No bees. No people. Keep them healthy in their hives.
No bees. No people. They’re important little guys.
Without the bees, they’d be no people, so … Bee wise!

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Better stick around ‘cause. I’m gonna tell you what a bee does.
Buzzing with the bugs in the shrubs and the tubs.
Pollen on the wings. That’s what a bee loves.
Nectar. Nectar. Pollination. Bees are the keys to our salvation.
Bees are a shrinking population. More bees needed. Inflation.

No bees. No people. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz
(x4)

Now, who can buzz the loudest? Bzzzzzzz
Who can buzz the highest?
Who can buzz the lowest?
Who can buzz the longest?
