about

Nottingham's Goose Fair takes place every autumn. Real geese used to be walked miles to Market Square to be sold. Their feet were dipped in tar to protect their feet on the journey. The fair is now held on the larger Forest Recreation Ground.

lyrics

Goose Fair. Going to the Goose Fair.
At the Goose Fair. G-G-G-Going to the Goose Fair.

Bumping on the bumper cars.
Ride the carousel.
Rockin’ on the rollercoaster. Ghost train too.
Swing the hammer, ring the bell.

Goose Fair. Going to the Goose Fair.
At the Goose Fair. G-G-G-Going to the Goose Fair.

Hot dogs and candy floss.
Toffee apples on a stick.
Chips, peas and vinegar. Burger on the side.
Now I think I’m feeling sick.

Goose Fair. Going to the Goose Fair.
At the Goose Fair. G-G-G-Going to the Goose Fair.

You can hear the music pumping,
All night long.
And we’re staying right here on the rides and the slides,
‘Till our money’s all gone.
