Windmill (Song for Green's Mill)

about

Green's Mill in Sneinton, Nottingham is a much loved local landmark. The mill was built by genius mathematician George Green's dad. The site is now home to a science centre. The mill is still working and you can climb right to the top!

lyrics

Windmill. Windmill. High up on the hill.
The grain comes down. The sails go round. Turn it into flour.
Even in a shower. Feel the wind power.
The miller goes in. Sacks to the brim. Everybody’s smiling, cause…
Everybody loves the windmill.

Windmill. Windmill. High up on the hill.
Wait for the wind to make things spin. Sails and cogs and wheels.
How fine the flour feels. It’s time to make some meals.
Some cakes and pies. Bread to slice. Everybody’s smiling, cause..
Everybody loves the windmill.

Windmill. Windmill. 200 years and counting.
Let’s thank George Green for his machine and give some recognition,
To a genius mathematician with vision and ambition.
We see it for miles. It makes us smile. We hope it’s there forever, cause
Everybody loves the windmill.
Everybody loves the windmill.
